Mortgage Rates Have Jumped Since the Start of the Pandemic
Interest rates have jumped since the start of the pandemic. If you are shopping for a house now or calculating what kind of mortgage you can afford, things will be a little bit more comfortable than they would have been towards the end of October last year. So we're not likely to see those low 2.5 to 3.5 percent rates like we did in 2020 and 2021. It's hard to picture a world where both interest rates would become so low to get mortgage rates back there.
