The Rediscovery of America
The introduction of Spanish horses and various equestrian technologies spread widely across the North American plains in beginning in the mid to late 1600s. Both Dutch and French technologies of violence like guns and metals spread across much of Eastern North America. And indigenous populations trade, incorporate, adapt, and reconfigure some of their military practices as a result. The rediscovery of America is not just an invitation for all of us as American or North American citizens and inhabitants to rethink our continent's history.
