The Tudor Study
The monster study involved 22 children from an orphanage. Half of the students were given positive feedback on their speaking ability. Others were labelled as stutterers and given negative feedback. The normally fluent participants who were labelled as studdrs started to hesitate while speaking. They spoke more slowly and with greater exactness. Over the course of the simester, nothing significant changed in group one or two. However, there was a noticeable decrease in the speaking ability by group three.
