George the Third's Mental Breakdowns
When george the third took the throne, political revolution was already under way in the american colonies. Six years later, he suffered the first in a series of severe mental breakdowns. By 17 89, he was experiencing chronic stomach pains as well as skin sensitivity and blue colored urine. These were soon followed by psychiatric symptoms including intense paranoia, confusion and hallucinations. George the third struggled on for another decade, chronically ill and virtually blind due to cataracts. At last, on january 20 ninth, 18 20, he died at windsor castle while under the care of his devoted wife, queen charlotte.
