The Different Types of Superconductors
For like 50 years, there were only a few superconductors that were known. Then in the 80s, probably described by this magazine article you read, there was a breakthrough. These days, they're up above 100 degrees Kelvin, which is still pretty cold. But it's getting closer to like the liquid nitrogen level, where you can get something cold pretty cheaply.
