The US's Response to Russia
In 2003, two thirds of the global reserves were in US dollars. By 2021, that was down to 55%. And obviously you had the Euro coming into play. That 8% decline in one year is equivalent to 10 times the average annual pace of erosion. It's not needs for diversification. It's the fact that the US's actions have made everybody around the world either very scared or seeing the weakness that's happening.
