Becoming Present Is the Key to Freedom

There is a reason that we are drawn to the kind of human beings and scenarios that hurt us. Familiarity in these scenarios is due to the comfort that comes along with our abuse. Letting go of your expectations of being uncomfortable may mean removing yourself from a certain situation or moving into one that you have been scared of. Approaching freedom is on the other side of discomfort. And freedom is only possible by opening up to new possibilities. Freedom is only available in the present moment, being present and not looking towards what is coming round the bend takes practice.
