There are a fairly limited number of accounts of s from slave jails, but we do have one infamous enslaved person who was held in lumkin's jail. The food they were fed tended to be very meagre, and the living conditions were quite terrible. They described oukno rodents and insects in the jail cells. And sometimes they were really packed with people.
