The Purpose of Creation in the Bible

The biblical account of creation is very different from the other accounts. It focuses on man and woman as the king and queen of creation. This fits with the whole rest of the theme of the scriptures about who we are. God created us in order that he might have someone upon whom to bestow his blessings.
