The Proliferation of the Low Wage Economy
Seven of the ten lowest paying jobs and the two absolute lowest paying jobs in America are in restaurants. The issue here is not that these aren't good professions, it's that they're not valued as professions. It should be okay for UC Berkeley graduate to go into this industry because these are skilled professions.
