Pentagon has identified the first one as either a weather balloon or a spy satellite that is from China. The Pentagon wanted to shoot down these Chinese spy balloons because they knew that it launched from Beijing and they knew that this had gone to India and to the Philippines and to Taiwan. But the State Department who wants a better relationship with China was pushing back against that idea.
