The Role of Vitamin C in the Treatment of Regional Pain Syndrome
Vitamin C following distal radius fracture fixation has been suggested as preventative though still somewhat controversial. Vitamin C 500 milligrams for 50 days has been shown to decrease the risk of developing this complication. Complex regional pain syndrome is characterized by pain out of proportion, swelling, stiffness, skin discoloration and vasomotor disturbance.
