The Importance of Intellectual Virtue
The other fork in the path as it were if you don't go down the route of practical virtue is to lead a life of intellectual virtue. Aristotle clearly values very highly yes indeed he does and that involves a kind of withdrawal from society or to withdraw from everyday daily commitments. When you succeed in for example getting a full explanation of some important set of events in biology say you succeed in understanding the life of lions then you are actually thinking the same thoughts as God is thinking all the time.
