Introduction
Professor Veille Visavanda-Valle is head of the Department of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at University Hospital of Cologne. At age 34 she published the first neuropsychiatric DBS case in the modern era, a patient with Giuse de la Tourette syndrome who also suffered from self-injurious behavior. She has operated on patients with many indications, such as Parkinson's disease, dystonia, tremor, OCD, Alzheimer's disease and pain. We talk about her earlier and present work segmented electrodes, the crisis of excess to DBS in OCD, her being a knight of Leopold II and about a book that she published in 2020
