Is One Really Not Entitled to Have an Argument?

This idea that troops can only understand the realities of war just doesn't make that much sense. This is a profoundly violent country. And as I've discussed at length with with Pat Blanchefield, American militarism is deeply implicated in our domestic culture of rampant gun violence. But we can't examine that domestic gun culture beyond this kind of very problematically hemmed in debate around banning certain weapons which pit Democrats against Republicans.
