A Psalm of David, the Servant of the Lord
When the philistines came to strip the slain, they found saul and his three sons fallen on mount gilboa. But when the inhabitants of jabesh gilead heard what the Philistines had done to saul, all the valiant men arose and took the body saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of betshan. And they burnt them there. They also buried their bones under the tamarisk tree in jabesh and fasted seven days.
