Ed Nell was sentenced to an indefinite term in a maximum security mental institution for the criminally insane. He registers at near genius levels on IQ tests and is so good that he's even allowed to give them to other inmates. By the time Ed turns 21, doctors are so impressed with his progress they let him out of prison on parole after just two years. But by then it's too late: The killer has already learned how to appear sane before the parole board.
