Not everyone was happy about who was filling the posts left empty by the pandemic. In certain areas, they try to block foreign crafts and tradesmen coming in. Edward the third continues his dynastic claims to the french throne as if a plague had never occurred. But while all these aspects of english society were shift in and changing, there was one element of mediaeval life that remained remarkably constant - the desire to wage war.
