The Role of Hormone Therapy in Menopause

Hormone therapy should only be used for moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms, says Dr. Pahadi. The current recommendation state that the use of hormone therapy should be as close to the menopause as possible and also for a short duration. There is lacking literature within this area that would be for women exposed in that clinically relevant period. And although it cannot differ between hormone therapy and the underlying physiology there is still an important question about whether or not HRT can prevent dementia.
