Is the Volatility Going Up?
The move index has gone up a lot, but it's not entirely equivalent to the vix. The longer and the harder that you coil the spring, the more potential energy is in it. I don't think anyone was forecasting inflation on an eight handle a year ago. And i would argue that the underlying economic volatility has also gone away up.
