Intermittent Fasting and Metabolic Syndrome
There is one gigantic non-stop global clinical trial of intermittent fasting that's been going on now since at least the year 624 and it's called Ramadan. Potential mood benefits are the most interesting to me followed by potential benefits for the other aspects of metabolic syndrome like diabetes and high blood pressure and various kinds of inflammation Be warned Every meta-analysis or literature review you'll find from standard scholarly sources ends with the same basic conclusion That intermittent fasting shows some clinical utility But there's not enough data to indicate it's significantly better than comparable ways of eating And there's basically no data yet about how intermittent fasting affects people in the long term over the decades of their lives.
