What is a potato? Is there any other food that has stirred so much discussion and controversy? potatoes are one of the top plants for getting calory per water use. They have lots of agricultural qualities that make them really good. There are many varieties that grow in all sorts of different soils. You can cultivate them by hand on steep slopes that aren't good for growing grain, which makes them nourishing but also fattening.
