"I become convicted of my sins right in the context of the revival preaching," he writes. "The problem is he doesn't know where to turn for forgiveness of sins". He finally has to go to the woods to the lord and in the wilderness, as he says, and pour out his heart there." The author also talks about how a common view of god at the time would have been that he was harsh and judgmental.
