We're starting to realize, as you point out, that many of those indigenous voices that we've ignored for two o 300 years had profoundly important points like sop chopping down onl the trees and killng allthe animals and things. Did it make you think, ik, how weird t my predecessor, as professor in this department in 19 hundred would have written this book? And i think what's happened partly is a problem of over specialization. So it's not true that other people don't know this stuff. They often know it much better than we do, but they just know their own little bit of it. I'm certainly not against the idea of people moving across discipline.
