If you can't determinis, deterministically, know where that data is stored, like which partition on which nod, then that means you have to issue a query to every single node. So now it might be faster, but you're actually wasting processing power,. When really you should be able to go straight to a node and say, give me this record. And that's why this point about the keing strategy needs to be so crucial. Because in order to take advantage of the scale ability, you need to beabde o, pinpoint the direction you want to go for the reed.
