The Warning Signs of Necrophilia
During his formative years when he's learning about sex and going through puberty, he has someone talking to him about necrophilia. He would later be known to revisit the corpses of his victim sometimes multiple times and use their bodies until they were so decomposed that they became infested with maggots. All of his classmates describe him as being well-liked in school and a fun and outgoing kid. I think it just shows why he was able to go so long without getting caught. The warning signs that people should have been looking for were glaring though.
