The Fear of the Lord in Bailum's Journey

Bailic is wanting to hire a sorcerer who's going to be able to manipulate the omens or manipulate the gods so that they do what he wants them to do. A prophet, of course, at least publicly speaking, is only going to be a mouthpiece of whatever God tells the prophet to say. Whatever bailum says really aren't his own words, but they're the words of the one that gives him those words. It seems as though bailic is, he doesn't really understand prophets very well.
