The Myth of Life in the Trench
There were four left tenant generals commanding a corps, which is something like 60,000 men. That's commanding a division that's 12 to 18,000 men and 81 Brigadier generals. There was another 146 wounded or prisoner of war. Those generals weren't anywhere near as old as I am. A lot of the Brigadier's are in their 40s or even younger. The youngest was about 22. And funnily enough, hey, Douglas Hague as a 22 year old was drop dead gorgeous. He looked gorgeous.
