The Myth of Ship Timbers

There are no examples known from medieval architecture of the genuine use of ship timbers in the medieval period. In the later 18th century, there is genuinely a shortage of English building timber caused by industrialism. The roof structures and floor frames are built with softwood rather than the English hardwood. It's not all good quality but you know it does get used as what looks to be a mast or a great spa which has been repaired at 16th century buildings.
