I had a very early sense of not being the ideal or the beauty standard. When I was four, I went to a birthday party and I wanted to try on a princess dress. It was the first time I was like, it was a real switch that went, okay, you're not good enough. And then everything after that, I can remember loads of those incidents now. The knowledge it gives us, gives us power. Your book is called ugly giving us back our beauty standards.
