When did black people first arrive in Britain? That is a surprisingly hard question to answer. And then another probably equally tricky question was kind of why did black people come to Britain? Black British history goes back much longer than sort of the windrush, which I think when I was growing up, I often thought that black people only came to Britain after the Second World War.
