Joe and the Zwinyi Conference
When Joe and lie walked onto the world stage in the mid 1930s, he at once built up quite a nice reputation as a worthy diplomatic opponent. Despite his high ranking in the party almost since the beginning, he never aspired to be number one. He was Mao's right hand man, directing the most crucial moments of the Civil War. Not only did he direct the course of the war with Mao, he had to take on the responsibility of what to do after the guns were silent and Jiang was defeated. Getting China up and running was Joe's main job.
