The Past Continuous Action Sets Up the Scene
The past continuous is the long or repeated action which is interrupted by the short and quick past simple action. We can also use pass continuous to sequence events when its com ind with the past simple, right? For example: I was walking home when something strange happened. And then we use past perfect to express that an action finished before the main events of the story. Be careful as well that i expect in some languages you have a similar form to the past perfect, but it's used to describe something else.
