What Are You Doing to Experience the Real Thing?

Leaders need to spend time with the people on the shop floor in the gimba, where the value is added. You shouldn't assume what's going on, you need to get eyeballs on something if you really want to know truly what’s going on. When you're not present, when you're in your conference room or in your office and people don't see you, they just make assumptions of what you're doing. So leadership is a big part of management by walking around - it's a big part for leaders.
