The Importance of Speed in Hockey
I used to run around about eight to ten kilometres a game over that 60 minutes, which isn't that much. It's not like an AFL field where you can run 100 metres straight. So I was more on the higher end of the sprinting because of my position. But beat test wise, I remember my best, they do the yo-yo now, but my beat test was 16, 4 or 16 to 5. That was pretty high. And then we did the 40 metre sprint and over that I was my best, was like 5, 10 or 5, 8 or something was my best. My biggest asset though, was my change direction and I could stop faster than everyone else
