How to Increase the Consumption Share of GDP
Every country that's followed this model has had a period of very spectacular healthy growth. But at some point, if you have very high growth levels of investment, you reach the point where you're no longer able to absorb all of that investment productively. China promised to do this way back in 2007 in a famous speech by then premier Wenjiawau. He said that China is hugely unbalanced and we need to raise the consumption share of GDP. In 15 years they managed to raise it 1% to 2% of points in negligible amount. If you want to increase the household share of GDP by definition, you have to reduce somebody else's share. And that's the hard part
