The Pro-Contact Culture of the Family Law Courts

Hedy Johnston is a CEO of Bravehearts, child protection agency in Queensland. She says family law courts operate as our pro-contact culture. Most people don't need to go to the family law courts to organise parenting if they've had a reasonably normal relationship. Lawyers will actually tell these protective parents, don't present allegations of abuse because it will make you look bad in court and it may endanger your chances of getting the parenting outcomes that you want. 3% of family law hearings end up with no contact orders.
