The Battle of Molden
The battle of hastings took place in the tenth century, during ethelred's reign. It was fought over a shield wall that Harold used to protect his army from attack. The two sides were described as having very different ways of approaching battle. And it produced an unusual battle with one side just standing still and taking it on the chin while the other side tried to smash through.
