Ophthalmology performed the best if your senior author had English as official language in the country with the best and it seems that open access journals had a higher error rate. Other subspecialties like neurosurgery and neurology had a higher rate of theirs. Also subscription model and hybrid journals had lower error rates compared to purely open access journals.
