Women in Literary History - What's the Difference?
Wordsworth and Coleridge are pretty broke in 1798, but they can still go off and have a big walk into it of Germany. There's lots of concerns about money, but none of them ever go hungry. A really interesting figure is Anna Leticia Barbold, who is known to Wordsworth andColeridge. She writes an extraordinary poem called M1811, 1811, which is a kind of vision of what Britain might be. Charlotte Smith poem Beachy Head is one of the great undervalued poems of the romantic movement. But their names certainly don't tend to be as well known as that of the men.
