"What the blood is to the human body, speculation is to business. It is an absolutely necessary part of it," he wrote in 1906. "The inventor who is apparently of all men, the least of speculators, takes greatest speculative chances for he uses uptime and energy to shape his ideas into some form where they can be of practical use." He added that if you're poor by the age of 35, you want it to be poor because you really didn't smoke it and push hard between the ages of 18 and 35. That's his point. Now we're not all going to get the massive lottery like winnings, but you sure as shit can make your first million.
