The Cat in the Darkness
The cat was surprised that anything could sneak up on her, little on a hulking 12 foot tall ogre. She gave up all pretense of walking upright or talking and screeched like a cat in the opposite direction. The palace was in pretty good shape but she had to get a look inside. It looked okay except for the dry blood smears leading off into the darkness. They were going to keep this ruse going. But if you really have to know, I said, of course I would be eaten by some third-rate shapeshifter. That's just the day I'm having.
