History Departments - Are We Going to Be in a Phase of Fighting for Survival?

i don't think there's going to be a massive arctic in history applications in the next year. i would hope that, er, you know, historians across the sector would have risen to the challenge. I suspect we'd be discussing the same kind of things. So probably not a hugely different conversation, but perhaps a more optimistic one as we move out of the pandemic and look to the future challenges and opportunities.
