I think it was more that you didn't have such a hard and fast kind of racial categories. And I think once we then start to get into the transatlantic slave trade, those ideas about what it's appropriate for even the kind of category actually of white is something which is sort of forged as a real like category during the Transatlantic slave trade era. Then this idea of what it'sappropriate for a white person to do versus what is appropriate for a black person to do, what a black person is like just by virtue of them being black. I think that's something that we very much see forming and crystallising during the sort of 18th century. During the kind of Victorian era
