Skeing and Skating in Norway
Skates are weird. Skating is not something that is mentioned at all in the icelandic sagas period. However, we find lots of skates archaeologically. In two thousand 16 edberg and johnny carlson did a really phenomenal analysis of, i think, 600 and forty or so sets of skates that they found in berka and sigtuna in sweden. It's probably quite surprising to think of things like linen garments being something that sort of desirable, but actually, as is a really good point thes sort of thing that people need. But if it weren't for the skeiners, there wouldn't be any norway god dedicated to it
