How Does Illiteracy Play Into the History of the Family?
None of the people in this family, including those who were literate, left letters that can be recovered now. So it isn't only illiteracy that leaves people out of that kind of record. It's its inaway social condition. I didn't want to speculate about what their lives were like. I wanted to have a source for everything i said.
