The Relationship Between Isaac and His Son, Jacob

The scriptures are extremely sparse, conservative in their descriptions of the physicality of people. So anytime that you have a physical description given, that is going to play a part later on. Rebecca was listening while Isaac spoke to his son, Esau. And then in the very next verse, it said, Rebecca said to her son Jacob, again, not their son, Jacob, but her son, Jacob.
