The cundill history prize is the biggest prize for historical writing anywhere in the world. This year it was won by marielena carls, who wrote a book about an uprising that had been lost to history. It all began in february 17 63 when thousands of enslaved people in what was the dutch colony of burbis launched a huge uprising against the ppressors.
