It's a good idea to know the connections between financial institutions that have arrangements with banks, right? So if you're sitting in a Scotia bank and they offer you an Amex, that's theirs. A lot of Canadian banks have very regional presences in different regions of the States. When you talk to a financial advisor, they are almost always going to sell you the product that their own bank produces.
