The Hanoi summit was a failure by everybody's estimation, but it's never been clear to me what the North Korean metric of success would have been. The Trump administration looked at it and said, we can't get a commitment to nuclear disarmament from the North. So I understand from the US perspective what the metric of success and failure looked like though I thought it was somewhat delusional that they thought they were going to get anything like that.
